The packaging and assembly process steps are commonly referred to as the back-end of electronic manufacturing. There are two important steps in which the finished semiconductors on wafers are turned into useful products. In the chip packaging step, individual chips are separated from the wafer and incorporated in protective packages so that they can be tested, handled, and distributed. The second step involves circuit board assembly in which chips and other components are soldered onto circuit boards for incorporation into finished products.
The Group recognise the vital importance of the packaging and assembly steps to the electronics industry and has developed a strategic objective to provide leading edge, technology, products and service to this industry. In order to achieve these goals Linde Electronics have:

Developed the infrastructure and logistics to supply the Packaging and Assembly market worldwide, with the various types of high purity gases.

Developed cost-effective nitrogen supply options including cryogenic liquid, PSA and on-site nitrogen generators.

Pioneered packaging cost reduction programs.

Participated in packaging research and in circuit board assembly research in the U.S., Japan and the United Kingdom.

Participated in soldering process research in which post solder cleaning was eliminated.

Pioneered the development of atmosphere-paste/flux-oven combinations for the wave and re-flow soldering.

Conducted research to characterise the process effects of oxygen as an impurity in the soldering process.

For wafer fabrication, MOX-Linde, in conjunction with the Groups offers Total System or individual custom made solutions which include design and installation for:
Total System Solutions MOX-Linde provides total services to semiconductor and silicon wafer manufacturers. The objective of such services is to free you from the hassle of project design and implementation, which enables you to focus on what you do best. The types of services offered are:

Designing of the total gas and chemical systems

Equipment selection and procurement

Installation/Commissioning

Quality assurance

Safety audit
The services provided do not only stop there. MOX-Linde also provide services like on-site management, engineering and technology support and analytical services. In essence, MOX-Linde can manage the entire chemical and gas product life cycle as well as virtually every process external to the fab. As an extension of the fab's operations, MOX-Linde will ensure that the chemical and gas facilities are aligned with the fab's goals.

On-Site Gas Generators
The Group provide a complete line of Ultra-High Purity Nitrogen Generators to meet the needs of the semiconductor industry worldwide. MOX-Linde has over 40 years of experience to install, commission and operate these generators to produce ultra high purity gases. Customers are free from the hassle of managing liquid stock as all this is done by MOX-Linde as part of our total system solutions.

Speciality Gases With the support and supply from The Linde Group, MOX-Linde is able to supply the full range of high purity speciality gases:

Chemical vapour deposition gases (SiH4, PH3)

Etching gases (chlorinated, brominated, fluorinated gases)

Ion implantation gases (ASH3, BCL3)

Epitaxial gases (ASH4, B2H6,PH3)

Others
On top of the supply, MOX-Linde also provides training on the safe handling of these gases.
.

Chemical Distribution Equipment
MOX-Linde in collaboration with major Chemical Distribution System manufacturer, offers high purity chemical distribution equipment and systems. These have been developed specifically to provide the most reliable and cost effective means to meet the requirements for high purity semiconductor process chemicals
Exhaust Gas Management Systems
Exhaust Gas Management Systems. In the electronic industry, some of the exhaust gases released are toxic, corrosive and flammable. It would be irresponsible to have these into the environment. At MOX, we are committed not only to serve you better but also to protect the environment for our future generation. To your benefit, our aim in exhaust gas management system is to help improve your production efficiencies by providing total solutions that:

Reduce Maintenance

Ensure Safe Operations

Meet High Environment Standards
Because exhaust gases differ from process input gases, their by-products can exacerbate problems with corrosion, condensable solids and toxics. A specified point-of-use abatement technology will address these issues at the pump before they become larger incidents at the facility level. We offer a number of Exhaust Management Systems designed to address your specific needs.

Our Gas Reactor Column (GRC) removes hazardous gases by converting them to inert stable salts and can be used on Metal, poly, and trench etching. It is also suitable for many CVD applications.

For production scale CVD applications an exhaust management system must be able to:
| |

Handle the associated powders

Treat the hazardous fluoride by-products

Achieve high efficiency removal of global warming gases

LPCVD DCS/NH3 generates exhaust solids that are best handled with our Water Cool Trap and Temperature Management System
On-Site Management Services
MOX-Linde parent company, The Linde Group is actively involved in On-Site Systems Management and currently operate sites in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Japan. The Group On-Site Systems Management program includes the following:

Verification of product conformance to customer specification

Inventory management

Cylinder monitoring and change-out

Operation and maintenance of all installed gas distribution, vacuum and exhaust management systems

In-situ analysis of designated customer processes

Maintenance, calibration, and operation of all analytical instruments

Maintenance of trend charts for gas usage

Hazardous incident response team (HIRT) capability

The Group In Situ Analysis Program provides a solution oriented capability to measure impurity levels inside of a process reactor, while it also allows an opportunity to improve performance of a semiconductor process step by optimising reactor operating parameters to minimise critical impurities. The use of specialised analytical techniques and equipment to accurately measure gas impurity levels inside a process reactor. With the support of the Group, MOX-Linde is actively pursuing opportunities to support the growth of the electronic industry in Malaysia.
